Are Psychics A Scam?

October 8th, 2009 Rusty 1 comment

Seems that Google is pretty quick to index my pages and already have visitors landing here on the search terms “Erin Pavlina Scam”.  I’m trying to figure out what about Erin Pavlina could be a scam.

I can see authenticity being in question.  But when I think of scam I think of someone not providing a service or product promised.  Seems to me if you pay the fee to have a reading from her you will actually get a reading.  Is it real or made up is for each individual to decide and believe as they choose.

I must say I am not totally sure that people who say they are psychics are making a genuine claim.  I have a pretty clear understanding that they provide a service that is unusual and could be make believe, maybe not.

What other ways could a psychic like Erin be scamming people?  Having a psychic reading isn’t much different than going to church in my mind.  Are preachers scammers too since the information they are giving you takes an element of faith to be able to claim it as real?

Psychic Readings And Messages From The Dead?

October 7th, 2009 Rusty No comments

My interesting person I thought of today is Erin Pavlina.  I discovered who Erin was through visiting Steve Pavlina’s personal development site.  Erin’s site is for spiritual wisdom and she provides psychic readings.

Yep, that’s right…psychic readings.  Erin says she is a psychic medium and offers intuitive readings to help you with your love, personal, and professional life.  She also claims to be able to often connect with the dead loved ones and relay messages from them from beyond the grave.

The first thing I think if is the movie Ghost and Whoopi Goldbergs part as a phony psychic scamming people with readings.  Traveling gypsies and scarves come to mind to but don’t know why.  Typically through history it seems psychics have a history of being nothing more than con artist or “performers”,

Much like Roy and his beliefs of the alien reptoids and such, I just don’t know where I stand on this one either.  I am not religious per say, I don’t have a strong foundation of beliefs on what happens after you die.

One thing that I will say is that Erins site is done very tastefully and it seems that her readings would be done in a tasteful, professional way.  I personally would love to get to experience a reading from her myself to see what it is truly like.  Maybe that the best way to help develop an aspect on what psychics and mediums can offer people.

While I would love to experience a reading by Erin, I think I would have to pass on a alien encounter with Roy Timm.  Check out her site by clicking here  if you like to know more about her.  Please note that I am in no way promoting her site or services.  I do not know Erin nor do I receive incentives to make a post about her.  This is just a continuation of my post of interesting people on the web.  Feel free to post comments, let me know what you think about people who claim to be psychic.  Thanks for reading!

Is This Guy For Real?

October 4th, 2009 Rusty No comments

I had a thought today that this week I would write about people that I have meet or come across that I thought were not your average everyday person.  Read about this first one and I think you will see what I mean.

About nine years ago I was working in a call center answering inbound sales calls for a major electronics company.  It was a great job and always something new.  On one particular day I noticed a supervisor that was monitoring another reps call and having a hard time keeping his composure.

Turns out he was listening to a call from a guy that had called in to order a new camcorder because aliens broke into his house and stole his because it had incriminating footage of their bad deeds on it.

The guy offered more details for as long as an ear would listen.  In his words, he is what’s called a Star Child.  Actually I think he said he was a half-breed star child since his father was human or something like that.  He said that he is blind, which leaves me wondering what he does with a camcorder.  By looking at his website I do believe his claims that he is blind.  What is a little harder to believe is the fact he can see images beamed into his head by Capt. Sani Ceto, I full blood star child, aka extraterrestrial being.

Alien Abduction

Alien Abduction

His beliefs go on about yeti’s and bigfoot’s also being real and of an unearthly origin.  He also passionately believes that the government is vigorously fighting to poison people through jet contrails, which he calls chemtrials.  He also says aliens are mutilating animals and abducting people sometimes giving them implants.

His beliefs have a movie quality theme to them.  The Star People are the good people saving earth on a daily basis while the reptoids are the bad guys always trying to destroy it.  He once mentioned that George Bush was a reptoid also, a high-ranking leader of the reptoids to be exact, out to destroy the human race.  That one I can actually believe a bit.

But anyway, I have actually talked to this guy a few times.  His name is Roy Timm.  He does offer many things for sale on his site so it makes you wonder how much is put on for profits.  In talking with him though I can tell everything written on his site is true belief.  I don’t doubt other life exists but I really think Roy is just to involved with it and heavily promotes theories of conspiracies.  Makes me think it just a guy with a few screws loose.

You can be the judge.  See if you can read his site for 5 minutes without laughing.  Whatever the truth be I solute you Roy Timm for making life interesting.  Here is the site http://nwhistoryofsaucers.com/  Feel free to comment below what you think about Roy or his site.

Please note I do not endorse, support, or share the views and information on this site.  This is merely for reading pleasure and left for you to form your own opinions to if you think this person is crazy of not.

The Goods

August 18th, 2009 Rusty 2 comments

I took time out Friday to go see “The Goods” Friday.  A long time ago I wrote an article about the traveling car dealership promotional sale scam, and I got to say, this movie was actually pretty realistic to what I experienced when working for a local dealer.

Nearly every part, from the diverse characters to the flipping over a number to add 3 grand to the price of a car, it was déjà vu but funny as hell.  I enjoyed seeing it played out as a comedy on the big screen instead of real customers getting taken in a game equivalent to a three card Monte table at a car dealership.

In the movie this sale was done as an attempt to save a dealership going down the tubes.  I always thought when I saw a dealer do these that they must be desperate to treat customers in the way these traveling goonies do.  All of us at the dealership referred to them as over paid carnies.  Good movie though, a lot of cussing but that’s how it really was for me so I expected it.

Neighbor Check

Big Bill Hell’s

May 6th, 2009 Rusty No comments

Ok, time for something humorous.  Today while playing around on youtube I came across a video that had me laughing for quite some time.  It’s a parody of a car lot commercial and what it would be like if there was truth in advertising from a slimy car dealer.  But it quickly got me thinking about work from home and business opportunities and how they are marketed.  If there was truth in there pitch would some of them resemble Big Bill Hell’s?  Haha.  I will warn you, the language is very colorful so don’t watch if you are easily offended.

Time For A Survey

March 17th, 2009 Rusty No comments

Last week I featured a post that was sparked by another bloggers website.  Today it happens again.  Carly has a blog site at www.confoozled.com where she is currently doing some research on blog and site monetization which I felt connected to this site as that was originally “the moneyxperiment”.  You can help her out with her research by taking a survey here.  If you provide a valid email address when doing the survey you will be entered to win a special appreciation prize at the end of March 2009.
