Liberty League Int. Dies In Australia; Why Did This Not Happen In America?

September 23rd, 2009 Rusty No comments

An Australian authority for consumer protection has begun a major initiative to stop online scam websites, see story here.  Including the hokey two dollar websites run by many of the what used to be known as Liberty League International.  My including them in this group hardly needs to be explained, all one needs to do is check out one of their many advisors look-a-like websites filled with the false claims and fake lifestyles.

This action follows the Dept of Fair Trading declaring Liberty League an illegal pyramid scheme.  It seems the combined effort of Australian authority and it’s citizens caused Liberty League to imploded on itself.  They seemed to take Australia by storm marketing Liberty League by all means imaginable.  They had a pretty good run but the plug did seem as though it finally got pulled.

Take a look at this Australian based forum and how it has exploded with information about the scam and was probably what kicked the first leg out from under Liberty League International.  This sent Liberty League scrambling for life raft, branch, or anything to save themselves.  Is their sudden re-branding to Polaris Media Group going to save them?  I doubt it, not if the Australians have any say in it.

It leaves me to wonder with all of our consumer protection we have here in America why is stricter action not taken here?  I realize they haven’t marketed in the States like they have in Australia.  And there has been class action against them here, not to mention litigation against them from the Arizona Attorney General that levied some hefty fines and restrictions.  But they didn’t adhere to the restrictions and did business as normal.

As Americans we need to stand up together and fight off the lowlifes preying on our fellow citizens.  It isn’t just enough avoid them and hope no one you know gets involved.  We need to seriously pressure our consumer protection groups to take more action on people taking advantage and scamming others.  We need watchdogs not afraid to twist arms.  And we need to make aware to everyone when a scam is in operation, who they are, and why they are about to be shut down.

Spare the bullshit testimonials from supposed members making so much money they cant see straight.  We need actual investigations into the claims posted on websites.  Perhaps the I.R.S. would be willing to assist in the inflated claims of income?  Maybe the F.T.C. could be expanded to do hardcore in depth investigations on these scams instead of just taking complaints?  We need to do more as a country and as a society.  Lets force these people to be accountable…

LLI Change To Polaris Is Unlikely To Shake Bad Image

September 10th, 2009 Rusty No comments

I really thought I wanted to avoid this topic entirely but I have discovered what bothered me most about it.  Much of the information I had on this site was very detailed to personal identities to Liberty League members and such.

It even got very personal when some family of an advisor became involved with the discussion.  It all came to a head when it was topped off with a religious spin.

One thing I did like though was letting it be know what people could expect if they involved themselves with that business opportunity.  One thing I anticipated for a while was LLI morphing to something new.

This was a unavoidable move due to the fact that LLI must have been hard to keep alive with all the bad reviews and people burned.  A sign it was coming was the fact this company didn’t even seem to be trying to do business in the country it was based in.  Instead it had moved to other countries with what appeared to be more lax laws to operate the scheme.

They exploded in Australia and little did they know that was probably what killed LLI.  The Australian state of New South Whales showed they had no tolerance for that kind of activity by declaring LLI a illegal pyramid scheme.  And from there it seemed LLI fell in on its self.

Relentless these people are, as Polaris Media Group rose up from the ashes of the disgraced LLI.  They say they have restructured to focus more on selling of products and less on recruiting new members, possibly in an effort to keep from being labeled a pyramid scheme again.

Its pretty obvious that LLI was nothing more than a scam to try to get you to go out and recruit people, they have even made that clear by saying that Polaris isn’t going to be that way.  On that knowledge I have a hard time believing that Polaris Media Group is going to be a honest and legitimate operation.  Slightly restructuring to stay in the gray area of the law is a lame move and most can see right through it.
